Lorin Loftus

Biography

Lorin Loftus is a DPhil student in the Department of Paediatrics. She is part of the Oxford Vaccine Group; her project focuses on developing vaccines against West Nile Virus and other pathogenic flaviviruses. Lorin’s goal is to create vaccines and therapeutics against infectious diseases with a lasting impact on global health.

Lorin is from the United States where she earned her degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She previously worked at the National Institutes of Health for 3 years where she assessed vaccine immunogenicity of a Phase I clinical trial candidate.
